We had a nice turnout and very nice weather for the match today. Optional theme was .30 cal U.S. battle rifles - with 9 of 10 participants shooting Rifle of the month, and 7 of those shooting the great American 30-06 cartridge for the 4th of July. Scores were great today with the lowest being a 170 which is quite good. Rifle had Frank setting a new record again this month with Allen Flanagan right behind with an excellent score with his beautifully stocked M1 Garand. V's counted today with 3rd through 5th place separated by 4V's. No one was willing to give up a V by shooting foreign 'enemies of the state' on this awesome Independence Day. Pistol had a nice turnout as well, Max and Olivia showed up to shoot their matching Czech VZ-61 scorpion pistols that they haven't shot in a year. They both gave Frank a run for his money with the Burke clan taking the top three spots, how annoying...Congrats to all who placed in the top 50%, and happy birthday Uncle Sam!
