August 2019 Results

We had a great match and great weather.  Welcome to our new shooters Ben and Brian!  We had some nice door prizes and everyone got to take something home.  Al shot a nice score with his M1 using greek ball, which surprisingly to him did not smell like musty canvas or cat pee:)  Apparently this is normal for russian ammo, but not Greek.  In Pistol I was finally able to shoot a perfect score and set a new record!  I've come close many times but just couldn't seem to ever avoid a mistake. Al was right behind with his Hipower and Curtis brought his Enfield #2 pistol and shot the match double action(it's DAO) with a very respectible score.

Two more matches left in the year!

We had beautiful weather and a very nice turnout.  Welcome to Todd!  Scores were great in rifle, with 2-4 just a point apart.  Many were shooting M1's today, congrats to the top 50%, and special congrats to Sean, I think that was his first time placing.  Pistol scores were very good as well with 2-5 also pretty close, and two of those shooting very small pistols.  I shot a used springfield mil-spec in stainless that shot very well for a first time out.  Congrats to Todd for shooting his first pistol match and placing third, and to Alex for placing with his PP!  Thanks to Allen for running the rifle line.

Thanks to Allen Harper for running the rifle match and Curtis for running the pistol match this month.  In rifle, Bob took home the win with his 1917 rifle.  Sean brought a seldom seen Luxemburg FN-49 in 30-06.  Due to the rain it was decided to just shoot two slow prone stages and skip offhand.  My rocket launch got postponed at the last minute so I strolled into down with my six-gun to shoot the pistol match.  Scores were  great this month.  Congrats to the top 50% in both matches, see you next month!

We had a nice turnout today, great weather, and some new shooters!  Welcome to Alex and Sean.  It was nice to see Bob and Tim back and also to our returning new shooters from last time Deitrich and Scott.  Steve brought a nice star gauged match 1903 with lyman sight. Theme this month was "Springfield" and we had about half 1903/A3 shooters with the rest shooting M1's.  Congrats to the top 50%.  Pistol was well attended and very good scores.  Most of the shooters brought 1911's! Deitrich improved his score from last month quite a bit. Congrats to the winners in the top 50% including Alex shooting his first pistol match with us as well, good shooting!

Remember, next month theme will be ww2 or before sniper with 4x power or lower, you are always welcome to bring any vintage legal rifle and shoot, or anything else just for fun.  Match will be 60 rounds plus sighters.  Remember to email me and let me know if you are interested in 30-06 ammo for the match, please put AMMO FOR AUGUST MATCH in the subject line.

Wind didn't turn out to be much of a problem today, six shooters showed up to brave the forecast and theme was Mauser.  Allen brought a neat VZ-24 export rifle for south america in 7mm mauser, Curtis and I both shot swede 96's and Eric brought a neat Norwegian capture K98K rifle that was rebarreled in 30-06 post war and called a K98KF1 I think.  Congrats to the top shooters, I tried my best to give them a chance:)  Pistol was a lot of fun, we really got drenched for about 15 minutes, then it got sunny, oh well, as Allen said it rained in Stalingrad.  Pistol scores were great today especially considering the rainy conditions.

March 2018 Results

It was nice to see everyone again, weather was very nice if a bit cold.  The new dividing wall I had worked for a few years to get installed was finally put in and it was great to not have to worry about the bench shooters and just do our match un hindered.  Theme this month was Mosin and was represented by two finn M-39's and a nice Finn M-28-30.   Congrats to Allen and Eric in Rifle, and congrats to Eric and Curtis in Pistol! All pistol scores were above 400 this month!   I had not shot anything since Ocboter and was feeling definitely rusty but the M-39 shot really well for me, and my Norwegian nagant also did quite well despite me doing my best to throw shots.  Next month will be 40 shots and the theme will be Mauser.   Hope to see a bit bigger turnout.   Targets are in ok shape for another match but probably need a build party before the May match.  See you then.

We had a very nice turnout of 10 shooters for the final match of the year.  A deer kept crossing back and forth that delayed the first relay somewhat but it all worked out ok.  Eric brought a really neat Hotchkiss rifle to shoot.  This was a Navy contract rifle in 45/70 with a trapdoor barrel and sight, with a bolt action that feeds through a 6 shot tube in the buttstock!   Pistol scores were great again this month, people are really getting good.  See you next year!

September 2017 results

It was quite warm, but no wind and we had a pretty decent turnout considering the 3 day weekend and several shooters on trips.  Theme was Sniper, and we had an original 1903A4, a repro, and a PU sniper take part.  Was nice to see Ted and Jason again.  Allen Harper shot a great offhand score of 94 with his M1A while shooting to second place.  In pistol, Olivia shot a great score with her VZ-61 just beating her brothers best score by 2 x's.  Allan shot a nice score with his HiPower and Jim shot a nice score for his second ever pistol match. Fortunately I brought a spare pistol and ammo since I planned on shooting my swiss 1929 revolver but wound up bringing a box of primed brass, not loaded ammo, I guess I'm becoming one of "those guys"...jeez.  Last match of the year will be October, hope to see you there.

We had beautiful weather, and a decent turnout, a bit light, but did have one new shooter, welcome to Jim!  Allen shot a great score with this M1 to win the rifle match, I was just behind with Allen and Bob rounding out the top 50%.   Pistol had really good scores with Bob right on my tail with his M&P and Olivia and Eric neck and neck, and Allen F just out x-ing Allen Harper with his Nagant pistol.  John Benjamin joined us with his scoped match rifle to test some loads and then drug out his browning hipower he bought in germany in 1972 to shoot the pistol match with us.  Next month is the 60 shot sniper match, but you are welcome to bring any vintage military rifle as usual.  See you then.

June 2017 Match results

Small turnout today, short and sweet.  Ed had a really pretty orginal SC 1903A3 with some beautiful wood, Curtis drove his sidecar motorcycle down with his FR-8 to join us.  We were done by 11:45 with rifle and pistol.  Pistol turned out to be a battle between single action army pistols:)

May 2017 Match Results

We had a very nice turnout today and scores in both rifle and pistol were very good.  Rifle of the month was springfield rifle, and was well represented. Bob G had a great score with his 1917 and may switch to that from his M1 from now on.  Tim and I were neck and neck today shooting very well with our 1903A3's with Tim just beating me by one V.  Curtis, Bob and Ted were also just a few points apart.  Allen would have been in the hunt but his 1903 sight windage got bumped and he had a very tiny rapid fire group but all in the 3 ring.  In pistol, we had 9 shooters and everyone had a score above 400!  Again, Tim and I were neck and neck this time with me beating him by a point to even things out for the day.  To be fair, Tim was not feeling well today.  Bob E, Bob G and Allen were also neck and neck. Thanks to everyone for having a fun safe match!  See you next month for the 40 shot rifle and 48 shot pistol.

April 2017 Results

We had a very nice turnout for the match today, weather was mild with a very mild misting from time to time.  Robert George brought out his 5.7 Johnson barreled carbine as well as his 800 horsepower Corvette, it was funny, as he started up the corvette folks actually put on their ear muffs:)  Scores were very good today with Steve turning in one of his best in a while, even though he forgot his shooting coat.  Eric brought out a neat Danish Krag rifle, and I had my trusty commission rifle made in 1890.     In pistol,  scores were very good with Max shooting his best score by 30 or 40 points and only dropping 10 points!  He's only the fourth person to break 470 since we started these matches, the other being Tim Roark and Eric Johnson.  Bob shot a great score with his new Model 10, and I had the honor of shooting a new pistol record with my cimmaron SAA with a 479-38X.  Congrats to all who placed today.

March 2017 Match Results

For the first match of the 2017 season, we had 10 shooters and a bit of sunshine and also cold weather and rain.  Nice to see some new and old faces.  Welcome to Ed Kawasaki and welcome back to Tom.  Theme for this match was Mosin Nagant, and it was well represented.  I had an untested Finn straight stock 1941 M-39 rifle that was consistently throwing the first shot in every rapid fire string into the number board, yeah like 2.5' high.  Tim had a first round squib that left so much gunk in his 91/30 chamber he wasn't able to continue, but a big thanks to him for staying and pulling for the second relay.  Congrats to Allen Harper for having the high score with his M1A!   In Pistol we had 5 shooters who stayed and were rewarded by pretty nice weather.  Steve and Ed were neck and neck as were Allen and Curtis. My Austrian Rast and Gasser 1898 revolver shot really well.

Hope to see you next month for the 40 shot rifle and pistol match.

October 2016 match results

We had a great turnout today for the last match of the season.  It was great to see everyone and thanks for attending this year.  Eric brought a very nice CG-63 match rifle and duked it out with Tim who had an AR in 7.62x39.  In vintage Curtis shot a great score with his M-39 just one point from beating me!  Bob and Allen just behind with their M1/M14.  In pistol Bob and Tim brought some red dot sighted pistols for fun and shot great scores.  Eric shot a nice solid score with this P-64 compact pistol.

Hope to see you next March for our first match of 2017!

September 2016 match results

We had a really nice day and a very nice turnout especially considering the holiday weekend.  Theme for this month was WW2 and before sniper rifles with scopes limited to 4x power.  We had an actual 1903A4, a replica from creedmore, a nice M1D with original mount and weaver alaskan scope, and a Yugo M-48 with a scout type scope setup.  We welcomed David Yarger who came to shoot his Finn match rifle for fun, I broke the group up into sniper, iron sight and "other" since we had two other AR shooters as well.  Ted shot a great score with his iron sight AR to just beat Tim shooting a scoped AR, and ahead of David who had a very nice score considering he had two "5" crossfires that didn't count. Bob just beat out Allen Harper in iron sight class.  In sniper my new creedmore 1903A4-gery did a very good job for me, even if I was struggling in offhand, Allen's M1D shot a very nice 100-11V prone, and Curtis' M48 did very well as well in prone.  Steve's original 1903A4 also had some very nice strings.  In pistol scores were very good, with me edging out Tim, followed by Allen F. and Curtis with his Sig 220 and Max shooting for the first time in a long time with the VZ-61 Skorpion.

Thanks to all who shot and we'll see you for the final match in October.

August 2016 Match Results

We had a beautiful warm day and a very nice turnout. Scores in both rifle and pistol were very close and very high!  I'm glad to see the pistol scores getting really good, competition is hot!  I had a good day with my 1903A1 but Tim was hot on my heels with his 1917, and Curtis shot one of his best scores with his swede.  Eric Johnson brought out a neat restored Norwegian Krag Carbine that was just beautiful that shot very well and also had danish krag long rifle for show.  Bob G rounded out the top 5 and his scores have been steadily improving.  In pistol again, Tim was hot on my heels, and Eric shot a great score with his 45 colt SAA.  Bob and Allen were right behind.

Next month will be a 60 shot match with the theme of ww2 or before sniper rifles.  We will do 5 shot rapid fire strings instead of 10 shot strings.  We will still have the pistol match afterward as usual.

July 2016 match results

What a great 4th of July weekend.  Warm, sunny just perfect.  We had a nice turnout of 11 shooters.  Theme was foreign bolt and it turned out we had three swedes, a swiss and a mosin.  Swedes took three of the top four spots.  Welcome to Mark who came and shot a carbine for the first time.  Welcome back to Ted who has been shooting serious matches for a while. Scores were good today, I was able to set a new record for rapid fire prone with bolt gun with a 100-9V upping the previous record by Alan Flanagan of 100-6V.  Pistol match had 9 shooters and Olivia came and shot her VZ-61 skorpion for the first time in a year.  Pistol scores were very close with only 7 points separating the top four shooters.  Curtis shot a great score with his Makarov.  Next month is a 40 shot match, no theme followed by the pistol match.

June 2016 Rifle/Pistol Results

Had just a beautiful day with a slight breeze and while it was hot it wasn't terrible and I had brought some ice water in a jug that kept everyone hydrated.  We saw Dean back in action, it's been quite a while and welcomed Bob G who shot a very respectable prone rifle score for his first time out with his M1.  Curtis shot one of his best rifle scores ever, and Eric brought out a neat Finn M-24 with sig barrel. In pistol Eric shot a very nice score with his remington rand ww2 era 1911A1. Next month will be "Foreign Bolt" and will be an 80 shot match followed by the pistol match, hope to see you there.

May 2016 Results

Perfect weather today and 7 shooters.  Rifle of the month was "semi auto battle rifle" and everyone was shooting one.  I just barely out v'd allen for the top spot, he had a great score, and Tim was right behind us for third.  In Pistol Tim was right behind me for second, and Eric had a very nice score for third with his new Vaquero SAA in 44-40, very bright and shiny, maybe not the best for a sunny day, but definite style points. Max came and shot the VZ-61 and did well, especially after not having shot anything for two years. Allen had a problem with his 1911 and had to stop but it was easily fixed after the match.   Cool item of the day was Curtis' Russian motorcycle with side-car, a copy of 1941 german military design with the side car having a driven wheel, very neat.  Next month, is a 40 shot match, no theme, and then pistol followed right after.

April 2016 results

We had beautiful weather today.  It was nice to see Bob and Tim back.  There was no theme today.  Tim brought out his 16" AR rifle for fun, it has a forward mounted 2x pistol scope and did quite well.  I managed to beat him by a single point with my rusty old Swiss M-96/11, but Allen was right behind.  Curtis did quite well even though he was struggling with some ligament issues in his trigger finger.  In pistol, we had great scores as well with Tim nearly getting me with his Beretta M-9, with only X's making the difference. Curtis and Bob also shot very well to round out the top four.  Welcome back to Dan, he brought a nice ed brown 1911 match gun to shoot for fun in the pistol match, hope to see you again.

Next month will be an 80 shot match with the theme "vintage semi auto battle rifles"

March 2016 Results

Weather held off today and we just got a bit of sprinkle on the last stage of the pistol match.  We had 7 shooters for the first match and all but one was shooting the rifle of the month, springfield rifles.  It was nice to see Jason again.  Allen shot a very nice score and a great V count to win the rifle match, congrats!  Pistol had four shooters with a mix of weapons from a Norwegian contract Belgian Nagant pistol from 1893 to a star super B.  Curtis shot his best score ever!

Thanks to all who came, next month will be a 40 shot match, no theme, followed by pistol.

October 2015 Match Results

We had awesome weather and our best turnout in a long time.  Was great to see everyone and welcome to Christie and Don.  They came with Bob and shot the rifle and pistol match for fun to try it out.  Tim brought a neat wood stocked ar-15 match rifle for fun as well.  Scores were really great today, Curtis shot a great score with his 1911 swiss long rifle.  Pistol scores were very close today as well.  Tim shot the pistol match for the first time and did very well, and Niko shot a very solid score as well.  Everyone seemed to like the door prizes.  We'll schedule a target party in February to replace cardboard and targets before the March match.  Have a good winter season and see you next year.

Match Information

Vintage Military Rifle/Pistol is a fun way to use those military collectibles in a competition environment. Rifles and pistols for the match should have been designed/issued before 1961 and were general issue to troops.

Rifles must be in as-issued configuration and caliber, no bedding or match parts, original barrel contours and original style battle sights.

Rifle Targets are set at 200 yards on the 200/300 rifle range.  We shoot 10 rounds for record in each position including slow fire prone, rapid fire prone, rapd fire sitting, and slow fire standing.  Rapid fire stages require a reload, and slings may be used for all positions except standing.  The 1950's era 5V target is used. Sign up at 8:30, shoot at 9 on the 200/300 bigbore range.  Round count is 40 shots plus 2 optional sighters before shooting for score in prone only.

Pistols should be as close to as-issued configuration as is practical and with fixed metalic sights.  Makarovs, Sig 220, CZ-70's, CZ-82's, and standard M9 style pistols are also allowed. 1911/1911A1 pistols should meet the following criteria:  fixed sights, 5" barrel/slide, no beavertail grip safeties or adjustable triggers.

The vintage pistol match is shot in bay 10 of the action range and the course of fire includes both left and right hand shooting,  at 7, 14 and 21 yards. Each string of fire is 6 shots and total round count is 36 rounds.  There are no rapid reloads, so only one magazine is needed if shooting a semi-auto. The NRA B-27 target is used. No holster is required, all shooting starts from the low ready position.  You do need a case that can cover the pistol when moving to and from the line.

Matches are held at a private club open to members and their guests.

September 2015 Match Results

We had really nice moderate weather and a very nice turnout today.  Theme was "sniper" and we had five shooters.  The other 5 shooters were shooting normal vintage rifles.  Ed had a very nice original 1903A4, three of us had repro Mosin PU snipers and Eric had his Swede 41B replica that he had put together from pieces.  He was shooting vintage swede match ammo as well!.  Curtis just out V'd Allen to take 3rd place in sniper. In his defence, however, something happened inside Allen's scope during the match that turned part of the optics blurry, and he had to finish with it that way.  We welcomed Will as an official tcgc member, unfortunatley he didn't notice the round count was 60 shots today so had to skip the rapid fire stages.  Dennis was our new shooter,so he was getting used to things but hopefully he'll be back.  I awarded top 3 in both sniper and vintage class since we had enough turnout. The pistol match had 9 people and scores were really great today with only 1-2 points separating 2nd-4th and 5th through 8th place!  Eric had a nice score with his australian lend lease victory model with actual 1944 australian holster. Niko shot a great score for the first time shooting his M&P.  My wife Sophie came out and shot my VZ-61 really well with no misses, and she hasn't shot for two years!  She also was nice enough to pull targets for me so I could run the rifle match and shoot. We just celebrated 26 years together!

Remember our final 2015 match will be the 1st saturday in October, 40 shot rifle and 48 shot pistol.

August 2015 Vintage Military Rifle match results

It was a very nice day, no wind, just a little smokey from the nearby fire.  Theme was semi-auto battle rifle, represented by two M1's and two M1A's.  We had one new shooter, whos name I already forgot, sorry, who was shooting an enfield but had some issues with his reloads, I think he will be back, he had a taste of what it was like, and had fun.  Scores were good today with the 2-4th place very close. Ted gave us a quick update on his and Jason's Camp Perry experience. I had a very good day today, setting a new record for slow fire prone 100-12V and a new overall match record with 397-30V.  I dropped the three points in offhand, which wasn't very good today, I threw a lot of shots, but fortunately they were still barely in the 5 ring.

August 2015 Military Rifle/Pistol match results

We had very nice weather, but a light turnout today.  We had two more people show up to shoot the pistol match and welcome to Tan!  Eric brought his very nice 1868 trapdoor springfield, I had my 1898 Krag, we had a 1917, and an ishapore 2A1.  David brought his match service rifle for fun and shot his best score yet.  Eric brough out his new vaquero and shot a very nice score, David shot his best pistol score and Tan placed fourth in his first match!

See you at the end of the month where the theme is Semi-auto Battle Rifles

July 2015 Vintage Military Rifle match Results

We had 8 shooters for the match today.  Theme was "Korea/Vietnam" and every shooter shot an elgible rifle.  We had many M1A's, along with two M1's, a soviet SKS and an AK, and a colt SP1.  I apologize for not having score sheets and for leaving one of the radios dead, we managed to make due in any case.  I also did not notice that there was a tie for a record score by Allen Flanagan with 100-9V slow fire prone with a semi-auto, and a new record by Eric Johnson with 100-8V for prone rapid with a semi-auto, congrats to both!  Eric also had a great offhand score of 94-3V!

July 4, 2015 Match Results

We had beautiful weather, about 75-80 degrees in the morning and 8 shooters came to enjoy what is left of our second amendment rights on this Independence day!  One of my Nephews from France was visiting and he tried both the rifle and pistol for the first time and did great.  He had no misses with the rifle, including offhand!  His pistol score was also great, he had four misses because he was pressing the trigger so lightly he was doing double taps accidentaly...but otherwise had no shots outside the scoring rings!  Thanks to Allen to bringing an American flag for everyone!  I got the OK from the doctor to start shooting again and I could tell it had been a while.  Bobby Keet came to shoot again, been a while since we had seen him.  Ed finally found all the parts for his revolver and was able to join us in the pistol match.

June 2015 Military Rifle/Pistol Results

We had beautiful weather and a very nice turnout today, glad to see everyone and the new shooters.  Welcome to Geoffrey and Luke, hope to see you again.  Eric brought a very nice sig barreled Remington 91 mosin that was converted by the finns to an M-24 guard rifle, very unusual.  Bob shot a very respectible score to win the rifle match.  Pistol scores were very good today.  Eric shot a personal best with his Lahti.  Since I was recovering from my bicep surgery I shot the match one handed, but my old colt still shot very well.

We had 4 people show up not including me.  Since I only had 3 shooters going for score, we decided to forego awards and the $5 fee and just did a fun shoot.  We used minimal supplies - if there is a cost, i'll cover it.    Jon B. showed up and shot with his own materials and targets along with us - He said he'd like to do it again.  All shooters except Jon had a WW2 gun.

May 2015 Military rifle/pistol match results

Where the heck was everyone?  They must have been fishing for salmon or dancing around the May-Pole, but they weren't shooting....sigh....Allen, David and I duked it out and we had Christopher join us for the pistol match.  Weather was great.  I had a really great day, considering my bicep problem, but forgot to bring any sighter ammo.  My swiss 96/11 was really on however, as my first shot was a 5 and I just kept going.  I was able to set a new record for bolt gun in the prone/offhand aggregate with a 199-9V dropping just one point in offhand.  Allen shot a very respectible score and David is starting to get his old form back with some practice and coaching.   Pistol was short and sweet, with David shooting his M-9 for the first time and Christopher joining us with a springfield mil-spec 45.

Nice day and turnout, Rob had his Uzi out and had a challenge getting it sighted in at 200 yards, but once he did he got several 4's and 5's in a row offhand, and also got two V's!   Eric had a very nice 100-10V prone and Steve Hodge had a great second match placing third.  Curtis had a beautiful Star Super Model B in the pistol match, very reasonably priced, very well made, a beautiful 9mm in a 1911 style grip frame.  Eric shot a great pistol score with his new Victory model.

February 2015 Match results

For our first informal match of the year we had a great turnout.  We had two shooters using military match rifles and the rest using legal vintage military rifles.  Curtis brought the "Flame thrower" M-44, Robert was getting so jumpy shooting next to him we asked him to yell "fire in the hole" before he shot, that seemed to help. Unfortunately Curtis forgot to unfold his bayonet for offhand and didn't figure out why he was getting so many shots way off center till halfway through.  I was able to shoot my 91/30 that I won back in 2006 in the first tcgc 5V match which is what started me on this whole rusty gun obsession.....It seemed to like the Hornady 150 .312 SST bullets just fine.  We issued the new awards this week, a pin with the V logo and people seemed to like them. Thanks to all who showed up and we'll see you next week for the official start of the season.

October 2014 Rifle Match results

We had our final match of the year today, fortunately the rain held off till we were finished.  We started the match with offhand this time since the sun was out, and didn't shoot any sighters.  Everyone seemed to like this as they weren't so tired in the offhand stage.  Rifle of the month was "100 years or older" and was represented by two swede 96's and a swiss 1911 rifle.  Bob brought out his new special grade cmp M1 rifle.  Steve had a bit of trouble with a reload that cost him a few points, and Allen Harper had two PPU swede bullets go missing in an otherwise great rapid fire target.  Congrats to the top shooters, and hope to see you next March.

October Vintage Military Rifle/Pistol Match results 2014

What a perfect beautiful day!  10 shooters had a great time.  Scores were pretty close in both rifle and pistol.  Congrats to the top 50%.  Bob kept us awake with his M-44 "boomer"...and Ed shot a very respectible score with his Carbine and was joined by Will also shooting a carbine.  4th saturday of the month will be the final match of the season, ROM is 100 years or older, so your rifle has to be at least 100 years old.  That is just the theme, you are welcome of course to shoot any other eligible vintage military rifle. In pistol scores were close as well.  We had two yugo M-57's, Allen Just eaking out the other Allen for 4th place.  Bob shot a great score with his M&P.

September 2014 Sniper Rifle match

We had a good turnout for the vintage rifle match, theme was sniper rifles.  We were well represented by 3 PU snipers, one swede AG41B and one real live 1903A4.  Congrats to the top 4 shooters!  Everyone shot really well and scores were really close. All of the PU shooters struggled with head position becuase the scope is so darn high and was hard to get even a chin weld on the stock, and the bolt is so far forward you have to break position to load a new round.  Ted managed to come in the top four even though he wasn't shooting with a scope.  Offhand is tough with magnification!  Just two more matches to go for the season, see you next week for the rifle/pistol match.

July 2014 rifle/pistol match results

We had a beautiful day with lots of shooters and some great scores.  Eric brought out a nice Gew 98 all matching and shot a respectible score, and Allen H shot a really nice score as well.  I got a chance to finally shoot my last two M-39 finns, a sako 1942 in a straight stock and a 1943 SKY, and both shot really well.  I have to give Ed credit for shooting his sharps, he got really tired of olding up that lead pipe in offhand..... Pistol match had a great turnout as well.  Matthew shot a much improved score for his second match.  Allen and Eric were neck and neck with my former victory models and had really nice scores.  Congrats to the top 50%.   4th saturday match theme is Korea/Vietnam, so anything the beligerents would have been using that was issue to general troops would be ok, mosins, sks, AK, garand, carbine, AR-15A1 or SP1, M14 etc...as long as it is not a match rifle, etc.

Beautiful day of shooting today.   A mix of rifles today, springfields, M1's and a finn, argentine and a Romy G ak with donkey D**ck forend.  Scores were pretty close today. Curtis shot a great score with my former FR-8 rifle.  Allen suggested in September since I will be gone they might do a rifle of the month theme called "Rifles Frank has sold to us"....we'll see:)   Pistol was well attended and people liked the action range a bit better.  Olivia shot an excellent score with her VZ-61 to win the match beating the "old man" for the first time.  I had some issues with some new bullets in my luger keyholing at 21 yards, so had four misses in the shoulder area because of that. Allen was close behind followed by Steve.

See you then:
