In Rifle, we had 7 shooters this month. Temperature was heating up by the time we finished. We shot pistol first today and it worked out well. Theme was Vintage sniper rifle this month. This includes various scoped vintage rifles including an actual 1903-A4, a M16A1, a Garand with a scout scope and a Mauser type bolt action. We had to cease fire a couple times today due to deer on the range. Thanks, Ted, for running them off the first time and the RSO the second time.
This is a blog for information relating to Vintage Military Rifle and Pistol competions run in Sherwood, Oregon. This discipline combines all of collecting, fixing and understanding the designs of old weapons, custom reloading/bullet casting, and marksmanship. Many of these old rifles have simplistic sights and force you to take detailed notes of positions, sight picture and aiming point since you can't just dial in a simple 6 oclock hold.
